Editing Tools

When editing my footage I have been using a range of different effects and tools, one of them being Kens Burns, this allows me to zoom into an area of my footage whilst it plays, I have used a range of different zooms within my video, some shots started from far away and zoomed in as the footage went on, whereas others started zoomed in and backed out. I liked this effect as it made my shots more interesting and looked good. I also found that many indie music videos used the zoom so I decided it would go well in my video.

Another tool I used was the "Reverse Tool" I used this on a couple of my shots, to reverse the shot, this was a good tool to use as I could play around with the footage and change it from normal to reverse. I also changed the speed of the clips, in order to make them slow motion, fast or normal length, I played around with the percentages and found one to fit with each clip, as some clips suited a slow motion effect. The effect I used throughout my entire video was "Heat Wave" this gave my video a warm look and my shots fitted in with this filter, the shots on the beach and the cliff top especially fitted in well as they looked summery. Through my research I found that a lot of indie videos used different effects and it made their videos stand out. I chose a discreet effect as I didn't want to over edit my footage.
